Hello again, readers!

Fall has begun, which means fall fashion is in full swing. If you’re like me and love the summertime, fall and winter fashion can be a daunting idea. The arrival of colder weather means no more bright skirts, no more sandals, no more dainty tank tops.

But even though summer has come to an end, I’m learning just how fun and fashionable fall trends can be.

In this blog post, I’ll be sharing how you can start transitioning your wardrobe to include more fall pieces, all while being on a budget.

That’s right––you can partake in all the fall fashion trends without breaking the bank.

I’ve seen so many cute pieces that would be perfect for the chilly weather, but would do some serious damage to my bank account, as a college student. For this reason, I have compiled a list of dupes I’ve found of items that you can be fashionable and warm in, all throughout autumn.

So keep reading to find some cute fall pieces and their less expensive counterparts!

1. Flannels

Flannels are making a comeback this year and they’re a perfect piece to have during this transitional weather. More specifically, flannels with earth tones are a great addition to your fall wardrobe. Instead of buying this flannel from Princess Polly for $54 (USD), opt for this $26 (USD) flannel from Pretty Little Thing.

2. Turtlenecks

The turtleneck trend has been around for years now, and I don’t think it’s going anywhere, anytime soon. This and the fact that they’re an easy, comfortable piece that looks high-fashion is exactly why you should include turtlenecks in your closet this fall. I saw this turtleneck from Reformation for $198 (USD), but this one at Nasty Gal only costs $28 (USD).

3. Knitted Sweaters

Knitted sweaters have always been my go-to for fall and winter fashion, and this year is no exception. Because of the quality of the material, knitted sweaters can be pretty expensive, like this one from Hollister, retailing for $40 (USD). However, you can get a very similar one from Cotton On for ten dollars less. Every penny counts when it comes to saving.

4. Oversized Crewnecks

Oversized crewnecks are not only really easy to throw on, but they’re also easy to style. Crewnecks paired with a tennis skirt are super trendy right now and it’s a look that is perfect for transitioning into colder weather. You can cop a crewneck from Missguided for $20 instead of this $44.95 one from PacSun.

5. Corduroy Skirts

Even though summer has ended, skirts can still be included in your wardrobe for the fall. Specifically, corduroy skirts have always been a piece that encompasses the feeling of autumn, while still having the summertime element. For this reason, corduroy skirts are a perfect transitional piece. I got this more expensive corduroy skirt from PacSun for $35.96 (USD) only to find a dupe of it on Forever 21 for $12 (USD). What a steal!

6. Black Leather Pants

Black leather pants have been on my radar as a rising fall fashion trend for a while now. This item can take any look and add a bit of flare to it, that black denim just can’t give you. These more expensive black leather pants from Grey Bandit are $68 (USD) but you can get a similar pair at Forever 21 for $25.

7. Puffy Coats

Where I live, autumn seems to last a total of five days before the constant cold weather starts making an appearance. For this reason, it’s important to have fall-to-winter transitional pieces in my wardrobe, as well. If you live in a location with similar weather patterns, puffy coats are great for this. This puffy $70 (USD) coat from Cotton On is a much better option for your wallet than, for example, this one from Hollister ($100 USD).

8. High-Knee Boots

Lastly, high-knee boots are perfect for the fall. Last fall, it was suede high-knee boots, but this year it’s all about leather! These faux leather high-knee boots from Pretty Little Thing are cute but cost $60 (USD). If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, these ones from Forever 21 only cost $34 (USD) which is a great price for this item!

So there you have it, readers––all the transitional fall pieces you need this year and all for a decent price. Now, you can stay fashionable and cozy, for the rest of the season, and still save up for next semester’s textbooks.

As always, thank you so much for reading! And don’t forget to tune in next week to read a new blog post by me.
